Kindness

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a shaped card with some creative folds.
I challenged myself to make a Circle Side Step Card. Beate has a fabulous tutorial on SplitCoastStampers. I followed her directions, but I did make mine a bit smaller, so it fits an A2 envelope.
I am not ready for fall yet, so I used some pretty flowers on my card (no butterflies!). It never gets old or goes out of style, and works for almost all occasions. These pretties came from Kindness clear stamp set, and I used the coordinating Kindness Flower die set.

The frame was made with one of the Decorative Plaque dies and a square die from Spellbinders. To give texture to it, I stamped the wood grain image from Grunge Borders clear stamp set repeatedly on the frame. After cutting the opening out, I glued a piece of old book page behind it, that was spritzed with brown ink.

The background was stamped with Music Background clear stamp set. Another image that can be used for any occasions. I used one more fun die, the grass from Fence & Grass die set

To embellish my card, I used ribbon, pearls, Baker's Twine, Stickles, Cheese cloths, buttons, and a Tim Holtz pin that holds the greeting.

Hope you will challenge yourself to make something different today! Give your creativity a go!

Cocoa is the Best!!

It's Kim and I have a fun Cocoa card for you using All-Star Cocoa.

Living in a household of men, my family is very aware of the fact that it is football season!!!

Besides watching a continual loop of ESPN Sports Center and multiple preseason games (Go Broncos!), my teenage son is having an interesting experience.  He has recently transferred to a small Christian high school.  My husband, who also attended a small Christian school, warned my 6'4", 200 pound son that he would get the attention of all of the coaches (even though his "sport" is actually band!)  We visited the school about a month ago and, as we were touring, a gentlemen at the other end of the hallway saw us and practically ran down the hall saying, "Are you a new student?  Do you play football??" And now that my son is actually enrolled there, the teacher in his Theology class asks him every single morning, "Are you sure you don't play football?"

So I created this card for my son.  When he is having a down day - I'll bring out the card.  Inside it says, "You are the best (but are you sure you don't play football!!)"  It will make him smile...

I impressed myself a little with the pennants (I'm easily impressed).  I tend to take stamps at face-value...a postage cancellation stamp is a postage cancellation stamp.  But...in this case, the curves on the postage cancellation stamp from Vintage Postcard became the folds on the pennants!!

I also brought out my favorite basic set - Grunge Borders - to do the diamonds on the green panel.

(All other details are on my blog.)

Wishing you

Hello!! Hope you all are having a fantastic day! August is coming to an end and with season changes, which I really love! Fall is my favorite season, so I decided to create a Fall card using "Leaf Silhouettes" set.
This card is super easy!! I stamped 3 of the leaves on White cardstock in Wild Honey Distress Ink, cut them out and then ink all edges with Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo Distress Ink, love the result!
I added stitches all around the card, die-cut 3 scallop edges borders from Patterned paper. Added them to card front, as well as small gold nail heads and a bow with a big gold pearl brad.
I stamped the sentiment on Ivory Cardstock, die-cut it using one of the Decorative Plaque dies. Added to card with foam tape, added the leaves and you are done :)

Naught Changeth Thee

Hello, Jennie here and today I have a fun autumn card I made using Season of Change from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Pitt artist Big Brush pens (no ink pads, shock and awe I know!).  I colored directly on the stamp using two markers prior to stamping on white card stock.  I love the two-toned look on the leaves...  To add some filler to the white space I inked the Friendship Script Background with a light yellow pen.  The sentiment was inked with a brown markers and and some flecks by coloring with the same marker on my craft mat, spritzing with water and then flicking over my panel using a water color brush...uber cool technique, and a favorite!

Here is a closer look at the flecking:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Good morning!

Jessica here popping in to share a sweet baby's 1st birthday card I made for a special little girl using Rhubarb's Birthday Wish stamp set.  I paper pieced Rhubarb with some textured brown paper and added a little paper pieced cupcake to his hands for the birthday girl.  Rhubarb is my go to stamp line to use for cutesy birthday cards lately!  I just love him!

I'm going to bore with the story on why baby Grace is so special to me and my family. I taught Grace's daddy when he was in fourth grade while he was living in Michigan which is where I student taught. Grace's mommy Hannah is the daughter of a former teacher of mine who is from the school that I am currently teaching at in Wisconsin.  Before they were married, they were reminiscing about teachers they both mentioned that one of their favorite teachers was a Miss Ewers.  Since my maiden name isn't the most common one, Hannah called me up out of the blue and asked me if I ever taught at such and such school and did I remember teaching a Tim while there.  I did and we all had a good laugh.  Isn't that funny?  They met at college, married, and are now back in the area and going to our church.  It's really a small world sometimes, isn't it?

Have a blessed day, friends!

A Seaside Postcard

Hello, it's Bridget here today with a card using a couple of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sets, Vintage Postcard and The Sea.  It seems a perfect pairing, considering many people send home beautiful postcards of their vacation destinations by the sea!
The layout is thanks to Korin, who gave it to us for this weeks Sketch Challenge at Splitcoaststampers!
I also used the set Light of Christmas to add some script bg to the left side of the postcard.  Because I wanted the edges of my stamping to fade out, I wiped away ink around the edges of the stamps before stamping.
The dp and cardstock have been sponged with Ranger Distress Scattered Straw and Frayed Burlap for a distressed look.  I used a post-it-note cut with a Spellbinders circle to mask a sun behind the sailboat.  The seam binding has been sprayed with water and crinkled up.
Have a great Wednesday, the week is half way over!
Hugs, Bridget

Fall Weddings

Welcome Sweet 'n Sassy Friends!  Are you ready to begin a new week? The summer seems to be slipping by and it won't be long before fall arrives.  I love fall weddings...in fact my anniversary is in fall!  So in honor of fall weddings, I have two cards to share with you.

I just love the elegance of the new Script Sentiments clear stamp set. This all white card with lots of texture and bling highlights the Best Wishes sentiment from the set.

For this fall card, the Fall Time Cocoa image was colored with Copic Markers.  A few leaves from the new Leaf Silhouettes clear stamp set were stamped in fall colors to match the DP, fussy cut, and tied on with a bit of Baker's Twine.  The sketch is last week's Sweet Stop Sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by for a little fall preview!  Have a blessed day!

Hugs,
Cathymac

To Everything, A Season

Hello everyone, it's Taylor here today.  As many of you know, I've been a part of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for quite some time - just about eighteen months, to be exact.   And for a little over a year, I've had the privilege of serving as the Design Team and Social Media Coordinator.  It is with a twinge of sadness that I'm writing this today - it will be my last official post as part of the Sweet 'n Sassy team.

The decision to step down has not been an easy one for me, and it has taken quite awhile to come to.  I love Korin, and have been so happy to work for (and with) her for so long.  And the Design Divas - well, you couldn't ask for a more caring, supportive group of women to be around.

I just wanted to take this time to thank all of you - the team and the customers, for the friendship and encouragement you've given me for the past eighteen months.  It has been wonderful getting to know all of you, and seeing the inspiration and creativity you bring to the table.

I won't be going far - you'll still see me in the gallery over at SCS, and sharing my SNSS creations on the Facebook page, too.  I love my SNSS stamps too much to not get them inky all the time!

I appreciate all of the opportunities I've been given as a part of this team.  Truly, SNSS has been such a blessing to me!  I cannot wait to see future releases and what the talented ladies who work with them will create.

You & Me

Have I told you how much I love this stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy. *smile* There are four sweet images in the You & Me set, Coffee & Donuts, Peas & Carrots, Salt & Pepper, Milk & Cookies, and PB&J!

Check out this tutorial on SCS for how to make this fun pop up card. I paired my darling stamps with paper from Bo Bunny and Anna Griffin. (Someone stop me...I'm in a major pink phase lately!) My image was colored with Copics and mounted on some fun text paper. The ribbon is from SU!, the buttons are from Papertreyink, and the twine is from eclectic Paperie!

Enjoy!

Back to School

Hello! Giovana here bringing you a cute "Back to School" card using "Back to School Rhubarb" set. I colored Rhubarb pink because that's my daughter's favorite color; she really loves this card, maybe I will send this one to her new teacher next week :)
For the background I die-cut few clouds and positioned them on the cardstock and sponged them around, then I added few clouds with pop dots. The sentiment was stamped on the biggest cloud.
I found this cute Patterned Paper on my stash and decided to add it to my card, as well as few grass and a bit of Pink Twine :)

Leaves and Blessings

I worked on this simple card for quite awhile trying to come with some special technique or layout, but I finally sat back, took a look at the strip of leaves and realized that they can stand alone!!  A simple card with these clean and graphic leaf silhouettes (and a sweet sentiment) is special just as it is!

I used this week's card sketch at Splitcoaststampers.  The orange panel is stamped with one of the fun borders from Grunge Borders.

Enjoy your season of blessings!

I used the Snowflake Silhouettes and Snowflake Flourish stamp sets.  Two of my very favorites!!!  I used my Silhouette to make the snowflake box and stamped the snowflake around the top.  I made a little 3x3 gift card to match and used one of the greetings in the corner.  Now what to fill the box with?  Well it will be filled with some yummy chocolate of course and sent to surprise someone with some happy mail!!!!

Clean and Simple with Sweet 'n Sassy

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you Clean and Simple (CAS). I'm known for my messy/distressed style, but I always admire simple cards... and sometimes, LESS is more! So I set out to play around and come up with some CAS designs.

I decided to use the new Grunge Border clear stamp set as my base set...

For my first card, I used Kraft paper, and just added similar hues and white. The images are from Vintage Postcard, Thinking of You , and New Beginnings along with New Beginnings Butterfly die. The butterfly is die-cut out of vellum, stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder (something you've seen me do over and over-and I can never get tired of the soft look).

On my second card, I used bright colors with the awesome chevron image. (You might have seen this card on SplitCoast Stampers. I made if for one of the challenges at our last release party.) This was super easy to make, and you can change the colors to work for the occasion. The quote is from Kindness clear stamp set.

On my last card, I used the negative image of a die, Season of Change Leaf. I stamped the white base card with the wood grain image. You can also just stamp a piece of white card stock, and tuck it behind the die-cut image. The quote is from the new Autumn Collage clear stamp set.

Hope we will see some of your CAS creations.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Hello! Today I have a 5x5 card to share that I made for the sketch challenge over on SCS this week. LOVED this sketch and thought immediately of the new SNSS set Leaf Silhouettes. The leaves were stamped with Memento Morocco, Cantaloupe and Bamboo Leaves and obviously wanted it to coordinate with some fun Bo Bunny patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

So Happy ~

stamps: Together Silhouettes, holiday baubles
Happy Monday morning, it's time to get ready for school! My husband tells me the story of many mornings when his mother would wake up a household of eight sleepy kids with this call from the hallway ~

I am so happy to share my back to school challenge card that I made showcasing dkDesign images from Together Sihouette. I fell in love with this set when it came out and these two images remind me of children walking to school. I layered the silhouettes on a piece of dp that I cut into a school house shape. The Bell is from the pre-released Holiday Baubles set. The sentiment is one that I inked partially from the together silhouette set and fashioned a label and adhered using a corduroy button layered on a round felt.

Enjoy your week creating and thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Chevrons

Hello, it's Bridget here and I've got a card for you using several of the newly released SNSS sets AND honoring our new Design Team member Ceal Pritchett, who is the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers today!  Congratulations, Ceal!
HERE is the lovely CAS card that I chose to CASE from Ceal's gallery.
I used the fantastic new set Grunge Borders to stamp the chevrons four times across the bottom of the card and then added the sentiment which is from the new set Script Sentiments.
Both of these sets are incredibly versatile and can be used along with all your other sets.
The butterfly is one of my favorites - it's from Everyday Miracles and has been colored with copics.
The whole card was easy and quick, and I'm patting myself on the back for having made a card without any embellishments!
Have a wonderful Sunday,
hugs, Bridget
Supplies used:

Grunge Borders Miracle

Hi there! It's Ceal and I am so excited to be back as Design Diva for Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I am a huge fan and Korin is just one awesome friend!
For my card I used two different Sweet 'n Sassy sets, Grunge Borders and Everyday Miracles. Grunge Borders is a new release and boy is it versatile. On my card I added Grunge Borders as a background stamp and embossed the panel to give my card a vintage look. For the release hop I shared a card using Grunge Borders to make faux washi tape. It has four different borders that will cover your card either direction.
Next I used Everyday Miracles for the sentiment and the butterfly. This is one of my favorite butterfly images to color. To finish off my card I added some lace and ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed Saturday!
