Christmas Candle Light

Hello and happy Friday!
This is Makiko and I have one Christmas card to show you today.
Speaking of Christmas, it is the last day of Birthday Sale at SNSS Store and all Christmas/Holiday clear stamps are on sale until tonight. Grab some before the sale ends!

Also, be sure to check out Friends of SNSS Blog Hop to chance to win a $15 store credit! You will have until midnight EST on November 30th to comment for a chance to win!

I used the sketch from Sketch Challenge 431 from Splitcoaststampers
The image and the sentiment are from Christmas Light set and I used the coordinating die to cut the image. It is much easier than cutting by scissors :) Although I still had to fuss-cut for the sentiment, which I do a lot when I design cards....gives more freedom to design this way IMO.

To finish off, I embellished the card with lace trim and the red tea roses.

Hope you like it!
Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by.

Maki

Just for you

Hello my friends! Hope you are having a great Wednesday, today I have a winter card for you. I used the "Winter Silhouettes" set. For this card I used today's sketch from Splitcoaststampers and not my traditional color combo, but when I tried this deep blue I loved the look.

I stamped the image in Memento Bahama Blue and the sentiment in Memento Espresso Truffle, I die-cut the  border using the deep blue cardstock and one of the Lacey Eyelet Border Dies.

Hope you like it!

Giving thanks for YOU!

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone. . .but I am not finished giving thanks. (Nor do I plan to be, any time soon!)  It's been such fun joining you all at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this month.  I have one last project to share with you here on the SNSS blog. . . and if you'll stop by my blog, I'll share one more bonus project too!

I used the fabulous Grunge Borders set along with Leaf Silhouettes again today because there are  limitless combinations with these two sets! I stamped the woodgrain border on my card base, and then inked the edges to add a little more dimension and texture.   I stamped my leaves in two colors of ink, trimmed them and adhered them to a matted cardstock block.  As a finishing touch, I added the sweet small sentiment and a few twine stitches. (I told you, I cannot STOP myself when it comes to that dark brown twine!)

Warm and bright. I love the way the colors just popped on this card.

Thanks so much for having me this month, at SNSS.  It's been a blessing!
Have a beautiful holiday season, and I'll be seeing you around, for sure!
Laura,

Vintage Christmas

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!
It's Ceal here and it's my day to share with you.  For my card I used the set Vintage Ornaments. I love using banners on my card and to accent the banner I added a little scallop to the side. I also stamped my image directly on my design paper. To finish it off I added the sentiment and a small gold bow.
Remember all the Christmas sets including the one I used are 25% off  until the 30th, as a part of our Birthday Celebration!

Merry Christmas

Hello!  It's Jennie here with a Christmas card.  I am loving creating Christmas cards this year using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and already well on my way to finishing them up for this year (ahead of schedule).
For this card, I used Vintage Ornaments, Christmas Sentiments and the foliage is from Season of Change.
This is my favorite color combination for Christmas cards.

How many cards do you make for Christmas?  How soon do you start working on them?
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Poinsettia Greetings...

Hello! It's Monika here with a lovely holiday card. I am in love with Poinsettia clear stamp set.

I just love stamping the flower image on different mediums and see how it turns out. I also love using layers to give dimension to my flower.
This time, I used White card stock and Vellum paper to build my flower layers. The images are colored with Copic Markers. The vellum pieces were colored on the back.

...and this is how it looks after I added gold pearls and Stickles to the flower. I also roughed up the petals by scrunching them a bit.

The background was made using dry embossed vellum and red card stock.
The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS186. Hope you swing by and play along with us!

Don't forget our Birthday Sale Special: right now all in stock Christmas clear stamp sets are on SALE!

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Christmas Blessings

Good morning!

It's my turn to share a card today with you.  In honor of the awesome Christmas Stamp sale this week, I thought I'd share this card that I made with the brand new Christmas Penguins clear stamp set.  These adorable penguins are so fun to color!  I colored the Christmas bulbs with glitter pens and then added a little layer of glossy accents for some shine.  His santa hat has a bit of sparkle too with a coating of stickles.

Have a great Friday!

In God is my Salvation ~

Happy Wednesday everyone! It is the day before Thanksgiving and what better time to declare where our salvation, strength and refuge come from? One of the reasons I love Sweet'nSassy are the scriptures we can use on cards and layouts. This particular scripture comes from the Our Refuge set that comes with four scriptures. I combined it with Nature Silhouettes that I have been wanting to use for quite some time. I love the subtle image you can create with this set. I stamped the scripture on white shimmery cardstock using versafine ink. I stamped off the wildflower image once and then stamped it over the scripture. The bird was stamped directly over the top right hand corner of the scripture. This piece was layered onto matching cardstock and then onto the cardbase. To embellish, I used twine and glued a paper flower in the centre.

Don't forget, Sweet 'n Sassy is celebrating this whole month in honour of their 5th Birthday!!! You, the loyal customers and fans participate in the fun of discounts, prizes and an upcoming Birthday Bash blog hop! Yay!!!! Are you a Facebook Fan? You might want to find us on Facebook to get in on the fun! ;)

Happy Thanksgiving!
~ Mary

Materials used:
stamps: Our refuge, Nature Silhouettes
paper: SU cardstock
Inks: versafine black, Crumb Cake SU
Accessories: bakers twine, mft royal rose die

Sweet 'n Sassy blessings

Hello, hello! It's my day here on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog!
It's the week of Thanksgiving, and I thought I'd share something warm and cozy, and filled with autumn.  I've used a few of my favorite things on this card. Would you like to hear about them?

First off. . .RED. This deep red cardstock and ink is so warm and  cozy for autumn and winter projects.   I stamped the chevron border across ivory cardstock and almost gasped, because the texture on the Grunge Borders  is SO fabulous.  It's hard to find a REALLY good looking textured-looking stamp, and this set, by Dina Kowal takes the CAKE baby. Gorgeous. One of my new favorite things!!
I love the way the border works so nicely with the crisp leaves of Leaf Silhouettes too!

My next favorite thing. . . .twine. Especially this dark brown twine from May Arts. You may have noticed, I use it on almost EVVERYTHINGGG! (I'm a little obsessed.) Thankfully it comes on a giant roll so I can use it to my heart's content.

I pray your Thanksgiving holiday is filled with family (whether by birth or by blessing) and lots of delicious food and fun.  There's not much better than cool crisp air, delicious smells in the air, and lots of laughter!
Hugs!
xoxo

Sweet Red Apples

Hi, it's Bridget here today with a clean and simple card using Apple of My Eye, one of the fun digi's which are on sale this week at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps at 25% off!
I used red card stock for the apples and then sponged red ink along the edges for added dimension, popping them up, and finally adding crystal glaze for shine - and all that seems to be lost in my photo however!
In keeping with the country apple orchard theme, I added gingham, twine and buttons.
Sometimes I tell myself "....just step away from the dp....put it down and step away, come on,
you can do it!" :)  I made a completely dp-free card, and hopefully all the clean, crisp white space makes a great contrast with the deep red and bright green!
Don't forget to check out the digi sale at SNSS this week!
Whatever today holds for you, I hope it's a good one, Bridget
Supplies include:
Stampin Up Real Red card stock
Twine
Ribbon
Buttons
Copics
Anita's Crystal Gloss

Save the Turkeys

Hello everyone!  Cathy here with today's post for the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog.  I just can't get over the fact that Thanksgiving is this week!  Where has the fall gone?  My DH and I always have Thanksgiving dinner at his second cousin's house who LOVES to cook, but I always take along something to contribute to the feast, AND the table favors.  In my search for favor ideas, I stumbled upon this "Flat-Backed Treat Box" in the tutorials at Splitcoaststampers and thought it might be just right for the table this year.

This little box is made from one 7" X 9" piece of card stock and perfectly holds three little Hershey Chocolate Nuggets.  Each section of the box was covered by "Citron" designer paper by My Mind's Eye.  The Fence and Grass Die Set was used to add interest to the background and ground the turkey which was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut before popping him onto the box.   The turkey image is from the Save the Turkeys Clear Stamp Set, but is also available as a digi image!  A button, twine, and a sentiment finish off the treat box.  Now all I need to do is make eight more!  LOL!

I hope you've gotten some inspiration today and will give this little treat box a try.  It would look just as adorable with a Christmas Cocoa or Rhubarb image, many of which are also available as digis.  And the good news is... as part of our ongoing Birthday celebration this month, digital images are on sale right now for 25% off until November 21st at the Sweet 'n Sassy Store!

I hope you will also take some time this week to reflect on all the many blessings in your life and give thanks to the Lord from whom all good things come.

Thank you for being such wonderful friends of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hugs,
Cathy

Cocoa Merry Christmas

Hello my friends! Giovana here with a very cute Christmas card. I used a Cocoa Digital image, this one is "Cocoa's Santa Hat", the sentiment is from "Christmas Light" set.
I colored the image with Copic Markers, cut a pom-pom from one of my American Craft Ribbon and added it to the image, of course the hat needed a little bit of bling. .
The papers are from the Peaceful Collection from Authentique. The big scallop border is from SNSS :)

Now, you can get this image in clear stamp, the 25% Sale ends today!! Also, tomorrow starts the new "Digital Sale" and you could get this image as well :)

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day.

Autumn for Christmas

I just love spending Tuesdays here on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog! Thanks so much for coming by today!

Today I have used the autumn-themed Leaf Silhouettes stamp set to create. . .a Christmas card!
I stamped the leaves in dark red ink onto red cardstock to create my poinsettia petals, plus dark green ink on light green cardsstock to create the leaves.

I pieced it all together, adhered it with foam tape to some lovely textured cardstock, and added a sentiment and twine.  Really, to mass produce this card wouldn't be too bad, because you could cut out all the leaves and petals while watching tv, or sitting in the school car line! (I get a lot of cutting done in the car line!)

I love to mix things up and use stamps outside of their theme because it breathes new life into our stamp stash.  I challenge you to see what stamps you can repurpose for other themes.

I'm so glad you stopped by today! I'm over at my blog, Lauralooloo, today too, if you'd like to stop by and say HI! :)

A Cocoa Kind Of Christmas

Hi there it's Ceal here. This week ALL Cocoa stamps are on sale for 25% off! Who can resist a little Cocoa especially at Christmas time? I just love this little guy!
The set I used for my card is A Cocoa Kind Of Christmas. I usually make a few sets of Chrisstmas cards using Cocoa and they are always a good seller.
The paper I used is some new Christmas paper from Authentique. I just love a tradition Christmas card using the red and green.

Thank You

Hello, Jennie here with a CAS card to share today using Leaf Silhouettes.  For this card I stamped the leaves in Memento ink and added some pearl bling.  Very quick, very easy which is key this time of year :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Sew Happy Cocoa...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a sweet Cocoa card. Sew Happy Cocoa seems to be very popular around here!

I decided to make a 'one-layer' card, using the brand new sketch from The Sweet Stop, SSS184.

I stamped the image from Sew Happy Cocoa clear stamp set on white card stock, and colored it with Copic Markers.
I ran into some bleeding, so I decided to do some shading around the image and bland the bleeding in with the shading. It also gave Cocoa a somewhat rustic/shabby look.
Since my goal was to keep it without too many layers, I only added one dry embossed strip that I stitched on top, and used the yarn on the bottom to hide the seams... giving the illusion that it is a one layer card.
The greeting (which is originally 2 lines) was stamped on one line. First I drew a pencil line on my card, then inked up the top line and stamped it... then inked up the rest of the greeting, and using a piece of Scotch tape, I masked the top lane, and stamped the rest of the greeting.

To give some dimension to my card, and still keep it 'one layer', I cut the side of the spool image (with a craft knife) and wrapped the spool image with yarn. I used a needle to do it.
I did my usual distressing around the edges with brown ink and my handy tool, my finger nails... also spritzed some light yellow color all over the card.

Don't forget that all Cocoa and Cookie in stock clear stamp sets are on SALE right now.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

Cocoa Mouse stamps are on sale!

Good morning!
Today I have a couple of Cocoa mouse cards that I made in honor of this week's Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sale event going on in celebration of SNSS's 5th birthday!

I used Sew Happy Cocoa on my first card and Fall Time Cocoa on my second card below.

Don't look at my coloring too closely though... I stamped the images in Memento Espresso ink, colored with Copics and then trimmed - all the while not loving the ink color.  I've decided that I can't stamp in brown inks when I color with Copics - it has to be black!  So, I went over the sentiments and images with a Copic multiliner black pen but due to the details of the stamp images, my tracing wasn't perfect.  I didn't have time to redo them, sorry...! agggh!

\\

But, as you can see Korin's Cocoa Mouse is pretty adorable anyway!  Check out her awesome sale page HERE and grab some sets while they are available for such great prices!

Have a great day!
Jessica
