Happiness

Hi there everyone and welcome to the weekend!  Today I'm sharing a card that I created back in January, when those of us in the northeast were freezing and anxious for warmer temps, pretty colors, and butterflies!  (PS - It's still too cold here and it's almost June! LOL!)

To create my card, I first made my card base out of a heavy white cardstock and then embossed a second piece of white cardstock to layer on top of the card cover.  Next I used a variety of Distress Paint to randomly paint a few scraps of cardstock.  Once the paint was dry, I die cut the butterflies using the Monarch Die set.  And, yes, you can to die cut before you stamp!  Next up was stamping each butterfly, using Archival Ink (Jet Black), which is the perfect ink for stamping on top of paint.  (Heck, I love it for stamping on everything!)  I used the coordinating stamp set, Majestic Monarch, to add the details to my die cut butterflies.  I then stamped and cut out the sentiment (in this case, I stamped first and then cut so that I would be sure the sentiment would fit on the die) before assembling my card.  I slightly bend each butterfly wing for a more realistic look and attach them with a tiny piece of foam tape.

I hope you enjoy today's card and the weekend!

Sunshine & Flower Fun

Hello Friends!  How are you today?  This is Jacquie, dropping by to share with you!  Before I share my creation with you, how about I share a WINNER with you?  We had so much fun teaming up with Add A Little Dazzle and thank you for joining us for our HOP!!

Our WINNER is:
Kay Jantz

*Please email jacquie@sweetnsassystamps.com to claim your prize!

Alrighty,  I have a little card creation to share with you all!!  Have you had a chance to check out this week's Friday Feature stamp set?  This week's Feature was the Sunshine & Flowers Clear Stamp Set and it is such a CUTE set!  Take a look!

What do you think?  SWEET, huh?  You can create ANYTHING with this one!  Anything from a CAS project to an elaborate project, this set is FUN to work with!

For my card I used large daubers to sponge different hues of blue and green SU Ink, onto a piece of GP white cardstock. then I stamped my main flower image and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I used this particular ink, so I could go back in and add a little color to my flowers, with my Copic Markers.  The Memento Ink does not bleed when you color with markers and that is AWESOME!  After that was done, I had to go back and add some light yellow sequins.  I am pretty sure I am STUCK on the whole sequin thing!  Haha!  Once all my elements were added, I then mounted it on a SU Old Olive Cardstock base.  AND?  Voila!

Hope you enjoyed my card share and don't forget to play along with our Friday Feature Challenge, just click the LINK and you can join the fun!  There is STILL time; you have until tonight at MIDNIGHT EST!!  We cannot wait to see what you come up with!  Have a WONDERFUL day!

Stenciled Stars

Hi there it's Ceal here to share with you today. This is a card I made for Memorial Day and used a technique that Korin has a video tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers today. It is called Die Cut Stencils and it is a fun technique when you do not have any stencils or you do not have a particular stencil you can make your own. It's really a simple technique you just use your die cuts, I used our Star Dies on my card. You lay them out like you want and then simply run them through your machine. Next you take your ink and sponge over the cut out area and that's it. Easy peasy huh?
Make sure to go over and watch Korin's video HERE

A Reflection of Our Creator

Oh wow--  What a happy dance it's been, to show off some of my favorite Sweet 'n' Sassy stamp sets!  Many, many thanks for inviting me to be guest designer for May.

I saved this one for my last post.  This sentiment from Grunge Elements sums up my feeling for paper crafting.  If my projects show talent, then God gets the glory, I get the fun and others (hopefully) get some encouragement and enjoyment.  The image shows another one of my playgrounds:  math.  In particular, geometry.  Can you see the radial symmetry and pattern of the hexagons within a hexagon?  I built it by using a negative hexagon die cut to guide the placement of each of the inverted hexagons from Shape Up stamp set.  I used a rainbow of colors, symbolizing God's promises.

For all that, I kept it clean and simple.

Thanks again, and blessings on us all!

Thankful for You ~

Good Morning SNSS fans and family! Mary here to share a holiday card with you.  At Sweet'nSassy we are so thankful for all the Servicemen and women in the Armed Forces on this Memorial Day. We remember the Fallen and the families left behind. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

My card uses the recently released You're a Star and used the matching stars die to create my layers of stars. To create the border I used the stars border from the hearts and stars border dies and layered it on the scallop border die. The background is embossed using provocrafts CB folder. The sentiment is from the Flower Blocks2 set and the banner is trimmed and cut by hand.

Materials Used:
Stamps: You're a Star, Flower Blocks2
Inks: SU Not quite Navy
Paper: Miscellaneous DP, SU
Accessories: CB folder, SNSS Dies - Stars, hearts and borders, scallop border

Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful Holiday.

Happy Birthday...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a Clean & Simple card (CAS card). I am always short on birthday cards, so today I have one that can be given to anyone... kids, teens, adults... It's also very easy to make.

I used You're a Star clear stamp set and the coordinating Stars die set.

The big star was die-cut out of the gray background panel... then I placed washi tape strips behind the die-cut. To dress up the card, I used teal thread and rhinestones. The greeting was made with a label maker.

Thank you for stopping by!
Enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day weekend,
Monika

What a Pear!

Hello Everyone!

Summer is almost here!  Here in St Louis, we only have 1 more week of school, then the pressure will be off!  These last few weeks have been full- showers, wedding, retirement dinners and parties - and spring has zoomed by.
I needed a wedding card and pulled out one of my all time favorite sets, Punny Fruits and Veggies.

With watercoloring being so trendy right now, I decided to get out my water brush and reinkers to color my pears.

To get my side by side pears, I stamped one then masked it, then stamped the second to make it look like it is just behind the first.  I decided I did not want the smiley face on the pears, so I masked that off before I stamped the images.  Once colored, I fussy cut the image out.
I used the vintage frame from the Vintage Seed Packet Stamp Set to frame my pears.  The sentiment is actually a combination of words from two different sentiments in the Punny Fruits and Veggies Stamp Set.
Our most current Friday Feature Stamp Set is Sunshine and Flowers

Once again, I used the masking technique as I stamped my cascade of daises.  The daisy centers are colored with Copics.  For a bit of an added grunge look, I used the Grunge Elements Stamp Set, and stamping off once, added bits of the image around the daisies.
Can you tell I love the current trendy color combo of black, grey and yellow?  :)
I hope you can play along with us in our Friday Feature Challenge!  You have until Thursday, May 29th to play.

Thanks so much for stopping by; I hope I have inspired you to get inky!

full of wonderful things

Good morning!  Here's a quick & easy CAS card today.  I used my Sunshine & Flowers stamp set.  I love how you can color it OR make a quick card with it that requires little to no coloring.  (I have another CAS card using this set that I will share on our hop tomorrow... be sure to hop along with us!)

The banner was hand cut and the single bloom was colored with Copics and popped up on a foam dot.  Half of a 4" doily gives it some whimsical charm.  Very easy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Believe

Today I would like to share a card with you that I created using Nature Silhouettes 2:

I created a sunrise scene using orange, yellow, and sky inks and then stamped my image from Nature Silhouettes 2 several times in versa fine gray.  I then used the Birds and Feather die set and placed a bird in the lower left corner to accent.  The sentiment is from the Inspirational Word Art set and used inked up only part of the sentiment before stamping it.  The papers are from the My Minds Eye Follow Your Heart collection.

Thanks so much for stopping in, have a great day!

What a Hoot!

CAS and quirky.  That's my style.  I'm more likely to keep things simple with a trick or two than to bling-it-up.  So, I play with interactive cards, 3-D projects, fancy folds and fun techniques.  The Sweet 'N' Sassy owls make it easy to get a giggle on a special day card.

The wiper card has been around for a while.  With this card, I tweaked the technique by reversing the fold mechanism and adding a wobble spring to the wiper.  When the card is opened, the little owl on the top pops up and wobbles.  Fun?

I used elements from several Sweet 'N' Sassy Stamp sets.  The large owl and sentiments are Owl Be Here, cut with the new coordinating Owl Die.  The branch is from the new Love Birds, cut with the coordinating Love Birds Die, and the little owl is from Bookmark Bits & Pieces.  I used the cloud die cut from the new Happy Happy Dies to sponge the bg clouds.

Have fun, all!

Thoughts of Peace.

Good morning!

Jessica here with a rather bulky card to share with you today that I made using several fun products from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

I used the new Thankful Blooms die collection for the felt flowers.  I cut a spiral shape into each flower and then rolled it up to form a rolled rose.  The sentiment is from God's Will and it's stamped on a Decorative Plaque die cut, stamped with the coordinating frame image from the Decorative Frames stamp set.

I'm very thankful for the promise of this verse.  I hope the truth of this verse blesses you as much as it does me this morning!

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend!

God's Love Never Fails

Hello, it's Bridget here today with one of my favorite
type of cards - a scene using silhouettes!
I used masking to create the mountains, then sponged in some blue for sky
along the top and green along the bottom as a background.
I added some grass using Serene Silhouettes before
stamping the flowers using the fabulous set Wildflowers.
This sentiment from Be Encouraged is incredibly comforting,
it reminds me that though sometimes it may feel as if everything is falling apart,
God's love for me is constant and unchanging.
I used various Ranger Distress inks and added some splatters in
both green and black using watercolors.
It's finished off with a couple of punched butterflies in black and a black frame.
Thanks so much for stopping by for a look today!

Where You Are...That Is Home

Hi all!  Sharing a card I created with the brand new Happy Home stamp set..a seriously darling set, which is just perfect for creating little scenes!

For my "scene," I started by cutting out a few hills from an Authentique paper pad (aren't those colors perfect for hills?)  I then used a stencil and Distress Ink to stencil the rays onto a piece of text paper.  The house and trees were stamped on cardstock and watercolored, using Distress Markers and a water brush.  Then it was time to assemble!  The hills were faux stitched and the house and tress tucked under the hills.  The last item was to add two clouds, cut out using a cloud die.  The sentiment was stamped on the bottom hill.

How fun it that?  Want to give this a try?  Grab the new Happy Home stamp set and start crafting!

Enjoy!

His Peace

Sweet ‘n Sassy offers such a great collection of scripture, inspirational and encouraging sentiment stamps!  It’s easy to find the perfect words for whatever the need.  This one, His Peace, speaks volumes.  I heat embossed it on blue cardstock, popped a frame over it and finished it with a tiny bow.  The frame was built with Spellbinders’ matting basics and regular rectangles dies, embossed and stamped with Leafy Flourish Background and More, and then sponged with the dies still in place, leaving the white margins.

I’m so grateful for this opportunity.  I’m learning lots, and having fun with it.

Blessings-
Brenda
