Don't worry drink Coffee!

Hello Everyone!!  It's Sheri Gilson here to share another card as the March/April Guest Designer.   I thought that it would be fun to play along with the Spring 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog Hop that is taking place over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog by creating a COFFEE THEMED card using The Pick Me Up stamp & due bundle.

For my card I stuck with a simple design with a few layers and shades of brown.  I embossed the background and distressed it with some Kraft ink to give it a coffee stained appearance.

The Pick Me Up stamp set is available individually or as a bundle.  While supplies last the stamp and die bundle is available for an amazing 50% off until it's sold out!!!  You can find it HERE.

shout of His glory

Good morning!

Today I am sharing a card using the Sing Loud stamp set from the Creative Worship line.

This little bird seemed to beg for some bright, fun patterned papers so I used up some scraps I had and layered them behind a leftover piece of black with a circle window in it. Sometimes those scraps come in handy!  The word Glory was also stamped on some scrap paper and cut out.

Have a great day!
Diane

Cups

Happy Sunday!
Sundays make me happy because I get my cup filled with the joy of the Lord.
The spring coffee loving bloghop is going on, so I couldn't resist using this sweet image from the Special Blend set.
To make my card I used the Zig cleancolor real brush pens to watercolor the cups and paired it up with some pretty design paper to match, the greeting is also from the Special Blend set.
I hope you have having a wonderful day in the Lord!

Trust God - Words of Life & Peaceful Peonies

Hello. This is Gracie Chavez. Today I want to share a new card using 2 different stamp sets to create a focal sentiment and a verse to go along with it plus a beautiful watercolored peony.

This cards has a striking, beautiful color palette. The fun polka dot pattern on the background adds a fun touch to the card. This is a bright and feminine ensemble that says Summer all along.

The encouraging word and verse are perfect for the card front. I used one of the words from Words of Life: Actions as the focal sentiment and then I stamped right under it a verse from Peaceful Peonies. I framed the inspiring sentiment with decorative die cuts and a heat embossed peony I colored with watercolor markers.

I invite you to stop by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop to take a closer look at these and many other new stamps from our new releases. The shop has also a 50% off stamp and die sale you might like! For more inspiration remember to follow SNSS blog, where the design team share project ideas and lots of inspiration!

Thanks so much for visiting.

Bold Peonies

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy Fans! This is Chrissy D here, sharing a project I created with the BEAUTIFUL Peaceful Peonies. I have enjoyed seeing everyone's projects. This set is SO versatile!!! I started by stamping the Peonies in a light brown ink color and colored it in using Prismacolor pencils. Once it was finished being colored, I cut out the image.

The base of the card is white. I layered a peice of black cardstock on the base. Using the Thinking of You image from the Peaceful Peonies, I stamped using Versamark. I then sprinkled white embossing powder and heat set it. I had remaining scraps of patterned paper from Basic Grey and used those along with some decorative scissors to create the scallops and corner peices. To finish the card I used Viva Pearl Pen to create the "dots."
Here's the entire Peaceful Peonies stamp set, along with a link to purchase it. Thank you for stopping by. Have a BLESSEd day!

Hugs & Prayers

Hi everyone! Kim here today to share a card I created using the new Peaceful Peonies stamp set. This is a stunning stamp set that features two floral images and five sentiments.

This was an easy card to create...I simply stamped the large peony image twice on water color paper using Archival Ink. I colored both flowers with Zig Clear Color Water Brush Markers, and added a thin strip of gold embossed paper to the right edge. I only needed to add the stamped sentiment to finish the card. *Tip* When using the Zig Water Brush Markers you do need to work on water color paper in order for the colors to move and blend. While you could use these markers to color an image on regular cardstock, you won't have the ability to easily move the color around with water. However, on water color cardstock, these markers are the best...I love them!

Here's the entire Peaceful Peonies stamp set, along with a link to purchase. Enjoy and happy crafting!

Pretty Potted Floral Birthday

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a quick Mixed Media card that I created with the Pretty Potted Florals Clear Stamp Set designed by NinaB Designs.

Wow, isn’t this a fun stamp set?  I love all four of the different flowers along with their pretty pots, don’t you?

To create my card, I first stamped the Pretty Potted Florals image onto white cardstock with archival black ink, heat set the ink before coloring the image with alcohol and water based markers.

The background papers were stenciled lightly with a very light blue ink before layering all onto black cardstock and the sentiment from Long Stem Silhouettes was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto black cardstock.

The floral image and sentiment were mounted onto the card front with dimensional foam and a few white highlights were added to the flower center using a Sharpie Extra Fine White Paint Pen.

To finish off the card, I added shimmer to the petals using a clear glitter pen.

I had fun creating this card and hope I have inspired you today – hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!

Sing Praise

{jane bosi)

I read the most interesting article that eventually led me to creating this post and showcasing these two cards together.  I want to point out, that I created first and later saw the article, but it solidifies what I already have believed in my heart.  The day I spent in my studio working with some beautiful Creative Worship stamps, my walls were filled to overflowing with worship and praise, both from my lips and Pandora ;)

The article discusses 2 Chronicles 20:1-25.  It's a lengthy article.  I so much want to be able to summarize it for you, but I just would not do it justice (and, we came here to stamp....right?)  Here's the article for you to read:   http://www.desiringgod.org/messages/ambushing-satan-with-song

Here is Martin Luther's testimony (I couldn't agree more...)

Music is a fair and lovely gift of God which has often wakened and moved me to the joy of preaching . . . Music drives away the Devil and makes people gay . . . Next after theology I give to music the highest place and the greatest honor. I would not change what little I know of music for something great. Experience proves that next to the Word of God only music deserves to be extolled as the mistress and governess of the feelings of the human heart. We know that to the devils music is distasteful and insufferable. My heart bubbles up and overflows in response to music, which has so often refreshed me and delivered me from dire plagues. (Here I Stand, p. 266)
So, Praise Him With Every Breath :)  I created this card in simple fashion creating a water colored background using an embossing folder and several distress inks.  Once dry, I added "Praise" from the Sing Loud and Clear stamp set and the remainder of the sentiment (also using Sing Loud and Clear) stamped on coordinating card stock.  I added some dimensional glaze to make them more like tiles.

My second card also features Sing Loud and Clear with a little help from Note This.

  Be Blessed...And, Sing!

happy belated birthday

Hello Everyone!!  My name is Sheri Gilson and I'm super excited to be here with my first post as the March/April Guest Designer.  Thank you so much Korin for the invitation!!

Today's card is one that I tend to struggle with.....MASCULINE cards.  I may also be known for not getting my cards out on time so I immediately had to have the Birthday Word Art stamp set.  It has a mix of wonderful birthday greetings.  I like to use a monochromatic color design and keep my embellishing minimal when creating masculine cards.  I stamped the sentiment and also created the layer under it by stamping the numbers directly onto the pattern paper.

and here's a peek at the inside...

hugs & prayers

Good morning!

Today I am sharing a card using the new Peaceful Peonies stamp set from this month’s release.  I also used some butterflies from Floral Greetings.

The flower was stamped onto the background and then stamped again onto white cardstock, colored with Copics, and layered over the tag.  The butterfly has only one wing attached so it flutters off the card a bit.  I added some Wink of Stella to the butterfly and flower center.

Have a great day!  Thanks for popping in and… happy stamping!
Diane

Beautiful Day

Hi Sweet 'n Sassy friends!
It's Ceal here to share with you today a card featuring one of the newer floral sets Floral Greetings. This is one gorgeous set and has lovely greetings with it.
To make my card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel for the front. I stamped the flower and then masked it off, next I created the background using the new distress oxide inks, removed the masks and colored the leaves with Copic Markers. To finish the card I added a butterfly from the same set a the top.

A Friend Loveth At All Times

Hello Sweet Friends!  Julie here to share a Mixed Media card that I created with the new Peaceful Peonies Clear Stamp Set designed by NinaB Designs.

Wow, isn’t this a gorgeous stamp set?  I love all of the sentiments as well as the verses and those beautiful flowers, don’t you?

I used a stencil brush with a flourish stencil to apply tumbled glass distress ink onto two pieces of white cardstock, before trimming, die cutting and layering onto black cardstock.

I stamped the large floral image from Peaceful Peonies with embossing ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  Once the powder had cooled, I used water-based markers with a water brush to layer the watercolor.

I fussy cut the image close to the embossing, cut the leaves off the edges and split the flower near the bottom before layering the split blossom onto the card front with dimensional foam.

I added the heat embossed sentiment from Peaceful Peonies with dimensional foam before adhering and tucking the leaves directly to the card front (behind the blossoms).

I finished off the card by adding shimmer to the petals with a clear glitter pen and adhering a few rhinestones.

I hope I have inspired you today to create something fun this week! Hugs and have a blessed week, sweet friends!

Peaceful Peonies and watercolors

Hello everyone! I really love flower stamps and I just can't get enough of them, so this new set was great for my stash!

I started with a watercolor background for this card. I used watercolor paper and blended orange, red and purple colors to create the background. I used a stamp press to stamp the peony, so I could capture all the details on the rough paper. I doubted for a long while if I should color the stamp but I decided that I would just let the background do the work and keep the image simple. I stamped two little butterflies and the message and all that I had to do was to find a matching background and card to finish this project. I love the encouraging sentiments from the Peaceful Peonies set!

For this card I used 'Peaceful Peonies' and 'Floral Greetings'.

Holy Spirit...

{jane bosi} Happy Wednesday, Sweet Friends!

My world has been a little off kilter lately.  I'm a truth teller, so I just have to call it like it is.  But, worry not!  I will only share the best of the details with you.....in my valley, there is peace, there is power, and I have been met by my ever faithful Father.

I had such an urge to shut out the noise--Skillet calls it the American Noise, but we know IT knows no boundaries.  It's a human noise to be busy, to perform, to perfection, to obligation, to this thing and that thing until our heads swim and many of us feel like we just might break.  I had to shut it out.  I chose to be still, to be silent and to be found.

I have a channel on Pandora Radio I call "Keep Making Me" so, I plugged it in and turned everything else off.  Just a girl, her God and a whole bunch of ink!

I'll be honest, I don't know how I will used this card, but I {heart} it so much!  It features the last of Krista Hamrick's beautiful line depicting images of our Lord.  This one is called Living Word.  It might be that the image from the book is more of a leafy plant, but for this day, it was, for me the Holy Spirit.  I combined it with my favorite sentiment found in the I Am Loved stamp set.

My background piece began with an embossing folder called "Fire" and a simulated watercolor technique I saw in an online video.  The concept is pretty simple--to use the folder more like a stamp.  Ink the pattern with distress inks and then lightly spritz with water.  Lay your water color paper over the top and press!  I layered many colors and used both sides of the folder at different times to produce my colorful background.  It's a fun little technique to play around with!

Today, I'm hoping that you are also able to shut out the Noise and be met.
Peace, Jane

Let's Get Sentimental

Hello sweet friends!  There are many reasons to love Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps...one of those reasons is the sentiments.  Many of the stamp sets are just chock full of wonderful sentiments and scripture verses.  After watching a recent video featuring Jennifer McGuire, I decided to play around with the sentiments from several stamp sets.  The sentiments were arranged on my Misti Tool so I was able to create LOTS of backgrounds from which to create cards.  Here are a few of them...

The sentiments were stamped in green ink on a white piece of Neenah card stock and white embossed on some green card stock.  A Pretty Potted Floral was fussy cut and popped on top of one of the highlighted sentiments.

Here the same sentiments were white embossed on pink card stock and one of the flowers from the Floral Greetings stamp set was randomly stamped in pink on white card stock.  The butterflies were colored with Copics, fussy cut and added to the card.  One of the sentiments was over-stamped in gray ink.

Finally, on this card, the sentiments were stamped in pink ink on a white panel and the edges sponged.  A triangular water colored panel was stitched to the sentiments.  The beautiful peony from the newly released Peaceful Peonies stamp set was colored with Copic Markers and a white embossed sentiment from the same set was added along with a few silver pearls and a metallic thread bow.

I still have many more backgrounds to play with...what a time saver!
The sentiment stamp sets used to create these cards were God Is Bigger, Truth Quotes 1, and Keep in Touch, Too.  Take a look at the pretty floral sets used:

Be sure to check out these sets and more at the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Store!

Thanks so much for stopping by...hope you were inspired to give this technique a try.
Hugs,
Cathy

A Pop of Yellow - Spring Inspiration with Floral Greetings

Hello! It's Gracie Chávez and today I want to brighten up your day with a pop of yellow with this fresh and Spring forward handmade card. A splash of watercolor and some alcohol marker coloring against a clean background sure makes you dream of Spring and Summer...

I used my latest stamp design for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, Floral Greetings. You get 2 floral images in this set and I decided to go with the Camellia bloom this time. I stamped it multiple times and fussy cut 2 flowers and as many leaves I could. Although the background was watercolored the flowers were colored with Spectrum Noir markers in different tones of yellow.

I used the flowers to frame the minimalist die cut circle wreath and added a few strips of color paper to break the structure of the card front at the same time that it blends in the color palette. Finally I adhered a banner with a greeting stamped and heat embossed in gold on vellum and added some rhinestones to finish the card.

More inspiration using this stamp set can be found on the blog! The design team has come up with brilliant ideas using this flowers. I can't wait to see what you create with it! Visit the shop and get this and other new sets today.

Thanks for stopping by!
